Neuropsychological Testing

Psychological testing can be the first step toward better understanding yourself or your child. Our compassionate assessments can help you find answers, resources, and a supportive community.

ADHD Screening and Testing

Get the answers you need about ADHD. Our thorough testing provides a diagnosis and helps you access the right support.

ADHD by the numbers

1. The 2016 National Survey of Children's Health (NSCH) found that 9.4% of children between ages 2-17 have been diagnosed with ADHD.

2. Boys (13.2%) are almost 3 times more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD than girls (5.6%).

3. Up to 17.5% of the children surveyed by the CDC were not receiving treatment for their diagnosed ADHD.

4. The rate of emotional development for children with ADHD is as much as 30% slower than it is for children without the condition.

5. 40% of children who have ADHD have at least one parent who has ADHD.

6. As many as 33% of children diagnosed with ADHD also have a coexisting condition.

Autism Screening and Testing

Early autism diagnosis leads to better outcomes. Our testing helps identify autism spectrum disorder (ASD), opening doors to appropriate interventions and support.

Autism  by the numbers

1. CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention): Approximately 1 in 36 children in the US are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This rate has increased from the previous estimate of 1 in 44.

2. Early diagnosis is key: ASD can be reliably diagnosed as early as age 2, but the average age of diagnosis in the US remains around five years old. Early intervention can make a significant positive impact on outcomes.

Financial Policy Regarding Testing

If you are referred for neuropsychological testing, we require you to put a credit card on file before your appointment.

Psychological testing is more complicated than individual therapy services regarding insurance billing. Psychological testing is billed via claim units. The units include test-taking time and time for the clinician to score and interpret the results. Multiple units may be billed for any test, and units are billed when the clinician is not face-to-face with the client. In-depth psychological evaluation and testing services are labor-intensive and may take several weeks to complete.

Since testing is often scheduled for blocks of two hours or more, we must ensure that the clinician’s time is utilized appropriately.

Psychological and neuropsychological testing is most often done in a series of three separate visits:  an initial evaluation with the provider, the testing session itself, and finally, a follow-up visit to discuss testing results.

The total amount billed to your insurance company for these three visits will exceed $600 per visit. Your financial responsibility will vary based on your insurance policy or if you are self-pay.  Please contact your insurance company to verify your psychological or neuropsychological testing benefits.

Psychological and neuropsychological testing benefits often differ from general behavioral health benefits.

Any applicable copay for testing is due on the date of service, as per your contract with your insurance company. A statement will be sent if an additional balance remains on your account after your insurance company has processed your claim.

If you are a self-pay patient, you will be responsible for paying for services before your visit. No-calls or no-shows after 24 hours before your appointment will result in the total amount being charged to your credit card.
